Inscribed on title page, verso: "At a court of commissioners for settling, adjuting, and determining the boundary of the colony of Rhode Island eastward towards the province of the Massachusetts Bay. This Book was produced in court by the agents for the province to the end they might give several passages therein contained as evidence. But the agents for the colony opposed and the Court rejected the same. Dated as of Court of Commissioners sitting in Providence in the colony of Rhode Island"
